Preparation

Step 1:
Mix all dry ingredients and bring to the boil together with red wine and lemon juice for approx. 1-2 minutes.
Step 2:
Then add the plums to the boil and simmer gently for 8-10 minutes on a low heat.
Step 3:
Season to taste with cinnamon and cloves.
Step 4:
Then stir in the rum and pour it into preserving jars while still hot and close.
Step 5:
The Variegato should pull through overnight.
