Even in my youth I liked to nibble on the leftovers from the cassata production in the ice cream shop.
When the cassata was ready, I always hoped that a piece would break when I cut it, so I was always allowed to snack on it.
Making real cassata is a somewhat tedious process, as individual layers in a container are always frozen for 24 hours before further filling.
That's why I chose this cassata ice cream variant.
Very tasty, creamy - slight note of cinnamon. (if not desired you can leave out cinnamon)

A very tasty ice cream that you can also scoop. I don't really like candied fruit, but I liked it in the ice cream. I would just chop up the cherries next time 😃
